On 27 January 2026 AMD published the blog post “CAD Without Compromise: AMD Talks SOLIDWORKS at 3D Experience World 2026”, announcing its presence at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2026 in Houston. The post is illustrated with SOLIDWORKS 2026 renders created by Adi Pandžić, PhD, and announces his appearance at the HP booth, where he talks about real-world SOLIDWORKS work.
Key points from the AMD blog
- 3DEXPERIENCE World, the Dassault Systèmes conference, takes place in Houston from 1 to 4 February 2026 and brings together SOLIDWORKS users, vendors and industry professionals.
- AMD attends with OEM partners Dell and HP, presenting AMD Ryzen AI PRO, Ryzen Threadripper PRO and Ryzen AI Max PRO processors.
- At the HP booth, Adi Pandžić talks through his real-world SOLIDWORKS experience and how eliminating workstation bottlenecks transforms 3D modelling and design.
- The renders in the post, made in SOLIDWORKS 2026, are credited “Render in SOLIDWORKS 2026 by Dr. Adi Pandzic”.
- The post argues that integrated graphics have become a serious option for CAD, although the largest assemblies still require discrete GPUs.
3DEXPERIENCE World 2026 in Houston
According to AMD, 3DEXPERIENCE World is a chance to explore the future of the CAD/CAE industry while also learning workflow improvements, new ideas and useful optimizations. Visitors can meet AMD on site with partners Dell and HP, where the latest workstation processors are demonstrated.
At Dell’s booth the topic is mobile and tower workstation form factors, from Dell Pro Max laptops to the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors in the Dell Precision 7875. At HP’s booth, the focus is on Ryzen AI Max PRO Series processors and their value for the workstation market.

Appearance at the HP booth
AMD introduces Adi “DrPax” Pandžić as a mechanical engineer, material testing coordinator and assistant professor at the University of Sarajevo. At the HP booth he talks through his real-world SOLIDWORKS experience and how eliminating workstation bottlenecks transforms 3D modelling and design.
The post also notes that he was a winner in the SOLIDWORKS 30th Anniversary model competition and was earlier featured in an AMD and Dell case study on 3D design education using Dell Precision systems with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO CPUs. As AMD puts it, his presentations combine a deep knowledge of SOLIDWORKS with a love of education, and it is always interesting to see him speak from stage.
Integrated graphics grow up
AMD explains that CAD/CAE applications used to be a poor match for integrated graphics. Limited memory bandwidth and low core counts made iGPUs too slow for demanding workloads and smooth assembly navigation. According to the post, this is no longer the case.
AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO Series processors combine an efficient GPU engine, a wide, high-speed unified memory architecture and a much larger GPU core. Systems like the HP ZBook Ultra G1a and the Z2 Mini G1a offer up to 16 desktop-equivalent CPU cores to accelerate the 3DS Stellar Accurate rendering mode, while the integrated AMD Radeon GPU provides quick iterative updates and excellent viewport responsiveness.

What SOLIDWORKS 2026 brings
According to AMD, many changes in SOLIDWORKS 2026 aim to make viewport renders more closely resemble the final output. RealView now includes much of the Dassault Systèmes physically based rendering model (DSPBR), while SOLIDWORKS Visualize supports it fully. SOLIDWORKS and Visualize are more closely connected than before, and the 3DS Stellar engine now supports the Vulkan graphics API, enabling ray tracing on AMD graphics based on RDNA 2 and all later architectures, including RDNA 3, RDNA 3.5 and RDNA 4.
The post concludes that the largest assemblies still need discrete GPUs, but integrated graphics are an increasingly plausible alternative for users who value battery life, power efficiency and form factor.
Optimizing your workstation for SOLIDWORKS
AMD’s presentations at the show focus on optimizing a workstation for SOLIDWORKS, including OS-level and application-level tweaks that affect everything from UI lag to network-related search delays. Most of these optimizations are vendor agnostic, so they apply to any hardware.
